Single-Nucleotide Polymorphisms in Bmy1 Intron III Alleles Conferring the Genotypic Variations in β-Amylase Activity under Drought Stress between Tibetan Wild and Cultivated Barley

چکیده
β-amylase activity is related to the polymorphisms of Bmy1 intron III; however, no attention has been given such relationships under environmental stresses as drought. In this study, 73 cultivated barley genotypes and 52 Tibetan wild accessions were used test association between gene III drought stress. Our results showed that three alleles, Bmy1.a, Bmy1.b, Bmy1.c, existed in examined genotypes. had a higher proportion whereas Bmy1.a. Impressively, with Bmy1.b significant increase stress, compared those Bmy1.a or indicating allele might provide more chances for developing cultivars water stress than both Bmy1.c alleles. Furthermore, XZ147, belonging type, significantly Triumph This be result unique amino acid substitution M527 composition R115, D165, A233, S347, XZ147.

Discovery of Novel Bmy1 Alleles Increasing β-Amylase Activity in Chinese Landraces and Tibetan Wild Barley for Improvement of Malting Quality via MAS
China has a large barley germplasm collection which has not been well characterized and is therefore underutilized. The Bmy1 locus encoding the β-amylase enzyme on chromosome 4H has been well characterized in the worldwide barley germplasm collections due to its importance in the malting and brewing industry. The Bmy1 locus was chosen as an indicator to understand genetic potential for improvem...
متن کاملMetabolite Profiling of Barley Grains Subjected to Water Stress: To Explain the Genotypic Difference in Drought-Induced Impacts on Malting Quality
Grain weight and protein content will be reduced and increased, respectively, when barley is subjected to water stress after anthesis, consequently deteriorating the malt quality. However, such adverse impact of water stress differs greatly among barley genotypes. In this study, two Tibetan wild barley accessions and two cultivated varieties differing in water stress tolerance were used to inve...

This study was undertaken to identify morphological changes in young seedlings of 5 Iranian almond species (Prunus dulcis, P. eburnea, P. eleagnifolia, P. haussknechti, and P. scoparia) under polyethylene glycol-induced drought stress. Drought stress caused a significant reduction in plant growth parameters such as fresh and dry weights of plant organs, leaf number, total leaf area, and leaf re...

The bovine leptin (LEP) gene was widely used as a candidate gene for molecular selection to improve productivity traits of cattle. This study was carried out to identify single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) in the LEP gene of Sumba Ongole (SO, Bos indicus) cows using sequencing method. A total of 31 animals were used in this study for analyses. Research showed that total of 16 SNPs w...
متن کاملEffects of single nucleotide polymorphisms in b-amylase1 alleles from barley on functional properties of the enzymes
Differences in extractable b-amylase (1,4-a-D-glucan maltohydrolase, EC 3.2.1.2) activities exist between enzymes from malt and feed barleys (Hordeum vulgare L.). Others have documented few differences in the b-amylase (bmy1) gene coding regions and large differences in the non-coding regions of genomic DNA for endosperm specific b-amylases from malt and feed barleys. Researchers correlated dif...
